Snowy Beach Party™ Lilac Hedge

This extraordinary lilac is not only cold hardy, mildew resistant and incredibly fragrant, but it has an unprecedented low chill factor, so it will grow and ¬ flower in southern areas; in fact, it will flower reliably in zones 9 and 10. If that weren't enough, it is a beautiful lilac. Growing 8-12' tall and 6-8' wide, it produces large clusters of white blooms in late spring that are fragrant from 10' away or more! Easy and undemanding, it is not picky as to soil type, but needs good drainage. It was a serendipitous find 50 years ago by Nellis McNeil, then head of propagation for Armstrong Nurseries in California.
