Café au Lait Royal Dahlia

A Formal Favorite
Popular for weddings; the creamy palette and huge bloom size adds just the right drama and sophistication to for the occasion. Cafe au Lait Royal adds a darling pink tint to the cream blooms you'd get on a Cafe au Lait Dahila, which is another a popular wedding variety. Plus, cutting for bouquets will encourage more buds to form, so it's the perfect cutting garden flower. You can bring that glamor to your garden in a patio pot or back border. It'll grow about 3-4' tall, with massive 8-10" blooms passers by will stop to admire. Dahlias aren't hardy enough for most zones, so they need to be lifted in fall, used as an annual or grown in a container that can be rolled into a garage for the cold months. But if you protect Cafe au Lait Royal for the winter months, it'll come back with a vigor, ease and drama you can only get from dahlias. It'll transform the landscape from midsummer to early fall, when most gardens are fading. It's a really impressive gardening trick.
