What is Plant Hardiness?

Plant hardiness is the ability of a plant to withstand adverse growing conditions. This typically revolves around a plants ability to resist fluctuating temperatures, potential flooding, and various strengths of wind. Most plants require specific conditions to grow in and being aware of your hardy zone is important.

What Are Planting Zones?

The map is split into different planting zones based on the average annual winter temperature divided into 10-degree Fahrenheit zones.
