These fast-growing shrubs will give your garden or landscape a tropical look—and many attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. Hibiscus have big, showy, tropical-looking flowers and most are hardy in zones 4-9. Hibiscus can be planted in a mixed perennial flowerbed or as a standalone plant. If you want to create a colorful hedgerow, plant several hibiscus plants side by side. Hibiscus prefer and flower best when planted in full sun. They can be planted in an area that receives partial shade, but they'll need several hours of direct sunlight daily.
